Imagination, creativity, and a damn load of technical skill.

I love building with AI.
After 25+ years as an engineer, architect and technology leader, I know I love building software more than ever now.
Itโs more fun because AI changes where the hard work happens.
It puts more emphasis on:
๐ก Strategy ๐ง Imagination ๐ฏ Problem solving โ๏ธ Knowing what will actually work

You need to know whatโs technically feasible. What will scale. What will survive production. What will still be maintainable years from now.
Architecture matters. Engineering matters. Operations matter.
AI isnโt a magic box where a vague prompt produces great software.
Crap in, crap out still applies.
And thatโs why I think AI is reminding us what software engineering was always really about:

I donโt give a damn who writes the code.

I care whether we understood the problem, designed the right solution, and built something that actually works.
And this is the part I enjoy.. no more waiting!
You can see a problem. You can see the solution in your head. And now you can turn that idea into working software just being able to describe it.

AI isnโt replacing engineering. Itโs giving engineers an incredibly powerful, and incredibly fun, new way to build.
